    AUL/MyDUL is an alternative of Oracle DUL, which can read rows directly from data file without Oracle instance. If you cannot start the Oracle database and have no valid backup to restore, for example, lost system tablespace data files, table dropped or truncated, some data files corrupted. You can choose AUL (Feature Overview) as the final solution with much lower cost compare to Oracle DUL service. It has recovered more than 2TB data and more than 30 customers from different countries.

    You can download and test it (Step by Step) with demo license before you make the decision. You can recover the data from a truncated table or database lossing system. In some cases, AUL/MyDUL is stronger than Oracle DUL, you should always keep another eye on AUL. Oracle Text Unload & Data Migration Tools

    Pure text file is an important way of data exchange, however Oracle does not provide it for us, we have to write our own, ociuldr is one of them wroten in high performance OCI interface. It's free (Download) and you can get the source code to compile it on any OS platform.

    It has a lot of command line options to tune the unload job, and generate the sqlldr control file for data loading & migration. With detailed exit code, you can embed it in your script well.

    sqluldr is the enterprise text unload utility, it's 50% faster than ociuldr by the IO tuning, and some new features. You can download the windows binary for testing, with almost the same command line options as ociuldr.

Oracle Performance Monitor Tools

    Many people don't know how to do performance tuning, just because they don't know where is the problem. So we need an Oracle tool to record some performance data of the database, oramon is one of it. It get performance data from "V$SYSSTAT", "V$SESSION" etc, by comparing the same data (consistent gets, physical read, active sessions etc) of different time, you can easily get to know where is the problem.

    You can download and try it freely if you have no idea of performance tuning, I provide support service of it unfreely, by giving me the data gathered and making suggestions after analyzing the data.

Other Database Tools

    AnySQL is a Java & JDBC based database interactive utility, you can run SQLs or DMLs on it. It intergreted a lot of customized SQL commands and some special features.

    asyncdata is a Perl script to replicate changed data (capture by triggers) between different databases, not limited to the same type of DBMS, such as Oracle replicate to Microsoft SQL Server.

    Compare Any Column is a Perl script to compare tables and indexes structure between multiple Oracle databases, if you split your database horizontally like eBay, you may need it.

    ocidiff is an OCI program to compare objects structure between two Oracle schemas, and synchronize them automatically. If you have a lot of QA databases, and want to keep tables structure the same with a core database, you should choose it.

    lobs is an OCI program to unload LOB values to OS files or upload OS files to LOB values in Oracle.

    dmp2utf8 is a C program to change the character id in Oracle dump file created by exp utility.
